Richard Launius (of Arkham Horror and Defenders of the Realm fame) has a project running on Kickstarter of a completely different sort. Legends of the American Frontier places three to five players in the roles of colonial era frontiersman looking to make their mark on the history of the United States. The project is currently 68% funded with nine days to go. I think we all know Launius puts together exceptional designs and Legends looks to be a rather interesting concept.
About the project:
Exploration, hardship, discovery, war, politics – Elements that build lives – Lives that become Legends of the American Frontier.
Patriot, Frontiersman, Southern Gentleman, Soldier, Trapper, Settler, Indian Scout, Statesman, Explorer… in Legends of the American Frontier you decide the course of life your character takes.
Legends of the American Frontier is an adventure game for 3 – 5 players in which players live the life of a frontiersman in the colonial days of America, starting just after the Revolutionary War in the 1780s and running through the early 1800s. Through the course of the game, the history of each character will unfold through the adventures the player sends them on!
