Yesterday saw a Kickstarter launch for the latest game design from Tom Butler and Green Feet Games. Unforgiven: The Lincoln Assassination Trial places players at the leads of both the prosecution and defense of Mary Surratt during her military tribunal. The game is for two players, ages 10+, and plays in 15 to 30 minutes. You can reserve a copy of the core game, plus stretch goals, for a $29.00 pledge or grab the collectors edition and stretch goals for a $44.00 pledge through October 31st. The project funded in its first five hours and expected delivery is April 2021.

From Green Feet:
Unforgiven: The Lincoln Assassination Trial is a 2-player card and dice development game about passion and justice that revisits the 1865 trial of Mary Surratt, one of eight put on trial for conspiring to assassinate President Abraham Lincoln and other members of his cabinet. You, as the prosecution or defense, must convince a 9-panel jury that she is guilty…or innocent.
Will Surratt remain Unforgiven or will you alter the outcome of the trial of the century?
While the actual trial lasted from May 9 to June 28, 1865, a game of Unforgiven will only take you about 25 minutes to play and 10 minutes to learn.
