Victory Point Games has launched their first Kickstarter project and the company is looking to produce an updated edition of I Say, Holmes! Feel free to check out the TGG review of the original release right here and keep in mind the biggest critique of the game was component quality; something the project will certainly address. Currently you can pledge support and receive a copy of the game for $35.
From VPG:
Sherlock Holmes and his companions are at your disposal as you try to catch the most notorious villains of Victorian era London.
The Game is Afoot and it’s up to you to solve the case! Sherlock Holmes and his cadre of clue-seeking companions are at your disposal as you attempt to catch some of the most notorious villains of Victorian era London in Victory Point Games’ I Say, Holmes! You’ll have a variety of different cards at your disposal, including Arrest, Clue, Alibi, and the I Say? cards, which call on Holmes and his friends to help discover the whereabouts of the criminal elements.
This new version of I Say, Holmes! features completely new custom art created by Clark Miller (Darkest Night, Trieste) showcased on 125 playing cards, alongside custom-shaped, laser-cut counters; we’ve brought all of our expertise to bear on making I Say, Holmes! into one of our most stunningly beautiful games yet.
If you’ve played the original version of I Say, Holmes! you’ll be happy to know that we’ve stayed true to the core game design, but we’ve updated a few of the mechanics and created a competitive campaign for the game. I Say, Holmes! features the following:
- 3 to 8 player support.
- Quick and easy play, great for parties.
- Around 30 minutes per round, even with new players.
- Chivalry & Sorcery Fifth Edition Reviewed - Nov 3, 2024
- Campaign Builder: Castles & Crowns Reviewed - Nov 2, 2024
- The Roleplaying Game of the Planet of the Apes Quickstart | First Look and Page-Through - Nov 1, 2024
Thanks, Jeff. This is our very fist Kickstarter and much to our shock and with yours and your audience’s help, we managed to fully-fund in only 22 hours — less than one day! Now we’re figuring out what additional goodies we can put out there, but keep watching that Kickstarter because we’ll be supporting our backers with the best that The Little Game Company that Could can offer.
Good to see the project got started with a bang! I completely understand going the KS route with this particular title for a variety of reasons. Looks like you’ve really put a lot of polish on the second edition.
Just a quick update as the I Say Holmes project is in its home stretch (I was tempted to type “Holmes” stretch heh heh) with about 27 hours to go and has currently raised over $40k. 🙂
