    Thanks for the overview. I think I paid $12 for my original 1979 Player’s Handbook, which was about a month’s allowance. I think I still have it, dogeared and worn somewhere. My friends and I each bought one of the core books. I remember that our characters often died early and often, especially the wizard characters, d4 for hit points? A stiff breeze would usually do them in.

      Hahahaha! I remember those wizard characters quite fondly Andy! I usually played a ranger or paladin in most games. 😉
