I share my thoughts about the new Dungeons & Dragons sourcebook while paging through the D&D Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount, from Critical Role and Wizards of the Coast.

The Explorer's Guide to Wildemount could have simply been put together as a cash grab by WotC to take advantage of the massive popularity of Critical Role. Thankfully, that's not the case and the Guide is actually an extremely well done sourcebook. DMs looking for a new world to drop their next campaign or further D&D tales into will be very pleased by what's in this book; essentially a trio of sourcebooks covering the game world, character options, and four adventures. I know many people are clamoring for new releases of classic D&D settings, and I completely understand, but at least they can rest easy knowing an exception supplement has been released while they continue to wait.
