I take a deep dive into the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4E adventure book Enemy in Shadows. This volume is the first chapter in the revised and revamped Director’s Cut of the Enemy Within campaign from Cubicle 7 Entertainment and Games Workshop. Is this a must have for WFRP 4E fans or simply a moldy oldie with a fresh coat of paint? You’ll find out!

Summary
While I have some minor critiques (a lack of a solid hook, most of the art is B&W, player handouts include too much info, etc), the new director's cut of Enemy in Shadows is essentially a must have for those with any interest in WFRP 4E. I love the fact the info provided gives the Empire a very lived in feel to it and the world carries on regardless of the whims of the player characters. There's a slew of opportunities for Game Masters to really roleplay the NPCs, who have varied motivations and personalities. I also appreciate the dashes of humor included throughout and the fact the PCs are newcomers who very well might not be believed or trusted as the story unfolds. This book is packed with loads of gamable material and belongs in your collection if you enjoy any sort of low magic fantasy systems; not just Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.
