Elliott and Jeff spend a Sunday morning chatting with Jay Mann and Rick Ivansek, the organizers of the upcoming Vul-Con convention taking place in Phoenix, AZ this February 25th and 26th 2012.
The event is being billed as “the Southwest’s Premiere Strategy Game Convention.” Programming and guest information is a little light this early on, but the event’s website mentions games like Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, Shadows over Camelot, Talisman, Flames of War, Warhammer, Warmachine, Heroscape, Wings of War, Dust Tactics, Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dungeons and Dragons, Savage Worlds and World of Darkness.
I thought I’d finish up my look at last Saturday’s Vul Con Arena II in Glendale, AZ.
I was very surprised by the number of people that I saw at Imperial Outpost Games throughout the afternoon. Granted, I didn’t spend the evening there but I’d take a stab, from the coming and going I observed throughout the day, there may have been upwards of 250-300 people who stopped by. For a game day held in a store, as opposed to a neutral location like a community center or such, I’d have to say the turnout was quite impressive.
I had the opportunity to spend much of my Saturday morning and afternoon visiting Imperial Outpost Games in Glendale, Arizona. You see the store was the site for Vul Con Arena II, a game day with quite a few events composed of a lot of different genres, which was scheduled as a lead up to next year’s Vul Con.
As the Phoenix, AZ area prepares for 2012’s Vul-Con you’ll find mini conventions popping up along the way in The Valley of the Sun! I’ll be stopping by Imperial Outpost Games in Glendale, AZ on July 16th to take part in and cover Vul-Con Arena II. If you live in the area be sure to head on over for this one day gaming event.
