I tackle the first chapter in the new Horizons of the Vast Starfinder adventure path from Paizo Inc. Is this an exciting first chapter in an all new Starfinder adventure path? Or does Planetfall essentially fall flat? You’ll find out!

Summary
I really like the adventure toolbox section, the hexcrawl nature of this initial adventure, and the encounters within the hexcrawl too of the first chapter in Horizons of the Vast. Sorry to say I find the core set pieces of Planetfall to be lacking in any real excitement or variety; they mostly come across like the "go kill the giant rats in the tavern basement and I'll give you a prize" sort of encounters which have been done to death so much that it's a meme. Planetfall also breaks what I feel is a core tenet of RPGs; the players' actions always have meaning and consequence, for good or ill, in an adventure. That gets tossed right out the window here.
