Here at TGG, we’ve learned that the initial print run of Clever Mojo’s Alien Frontiers has already sold out. It looks as if the first 1000 copies are already spoken for and those who have not preordered from Clever Mojo Games and it’s resellers will have to wait until Jan/Feb 2011 to score a copy. This certainly is a great success story for Clever Mojo President W. David MacKenzie, designer Tory Niemann, artist Mark Maxwell, and their “little game that DID!”
If you aren’t familiar with the story of how Alien Frontiers came to fruition I recommend giving Elliott’s interview with Tory a read. If you love games you have to truly dig how people got onboard to put their money where their mouths were to ensure AF got produced. And not only produced but already looking at a second print run (something that every game publisher crosses their fingers for) almost immediately.
I know we’re eagerly awaiting our review copies here at The Gang and you can expect our in depth thoughts on the podcast soon after. Until then we just have to bide our time peeking at the rules for the game over on the Clever Mojo site.
