Lucille Fletcher was perhaps the most accomplished suspense/horror radio writer of her era with Sorry, Wrong Number and The Hitchhiker among her classics. For Camilla, Fletcher is in fine form as she adapted Sheridan Le Fanu’s Victorian age weird tale for the 1940 Columbia Workshop listeners.
Following an accident outside their home, the Dodge family takes in an injured young woman who then proceeds to intertwine her way into the household. Yet there seems to be more than just a strange twist of fate at work. Jeanette Nolan takes on the title role in a program originally aired on July 28th, 1940.
