While Orson Welles would become a near household name a few months later with his War of the Worlds broadcast, the early weeks of The Mercury Theater on the Air also featured other dips into horror or the gothic. In our latest Spooktacular offering Welles puts in a mighty fine turn as Dracula in an adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic, which aired on July 11th, 1938 as the initial episode of the series.
