When the late, great writer Ray Bradbury comes to mind, many people tend to think of the nostalgia of youth and small town Americana wrapped in a layer of fantasy which his stories conveyed. Yet Bradbury turned out plenty of downright horrifying tales, especially early in his career. One of these is Mars is Heaven which originally appeared in the magazine Planet Stories in 1948 and was later incorporated into the novel The Martian Chronicles which was published in 1950.
Turn out the lights and sit back as I bring you what I believe to be the scariest of the radio adaptations of Mars is Heaven from Dimension X as it aired on January 7, 1951.
