While many cable shows now receive a second season renewal following the airing of the first couple episodes, it’s more unusual for a series to receive an order for an additional season before it even premieres. True, Starz happens to be pretty quick on the trigger with renewing shows but it should be welcome news for horror fans that earlier today the cable network green-lit an additional ten episodes of Ash VS Evil Dead. The first season launches this Halloween (October 31st) at 9pm EST.
“One season isn’t enough to satisfy the fans’ two-decade-long appetite for more Ash,” says Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik. “The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story, have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can’t end with Season 1.”
Variety reports over 100 television outlets had already purchased the series to air worldwide.
Get ready for loads of laughs and lots of gore when Ash VS Evil Dead hits this Saturday. The opening episode is directed by creator Sam Raimi and stars Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Jill Marie Jones, Ray Santiago, and Dana Delorenzo.

We just watched the first two episodes last night. What a great show! Hysterical and scary at the same time and the way it’s produced, written and directed, it reproduces Army of Darkness perfectly. Bruce doesn’t miss a beat and is still his old wonderful over-the-top/wink at the screen self. Great stuff!
