I dip into the three books contained within the Dungeon Crawl Classics Dying Earth Boxed Set from Goodman Games. Does this boxed set bring the classic fantasy world of Jack Vance to life at your game table? Or is DCC Dying Earth dead on arrival? You’ll find out!

SUMMARY

This boxed set came oh so close to receiving a ten out of ten score. You can really see what a labor of love this adaptation of the Dying Earth to Dungeon Crawl Classics is from the design team. I love the fact the DCC mechanics and systems are tweaked to fit Jack Vance's world as opposed to the other way around. There's plenty of leeway too as far as adopting the new rules and systems. Sadly, the only thing holding the set back from a perfect score is the fact there are no stat blocks for any of the characters we've come to know from Vance's stories.
