License for Fun: Forrest-Pruzan Creative

Early Prototype Session of Master of the Seas

Many of us get up in the morning and drive into the office, bleary-eyed and and mumbling for that first cup of coffee. Looking forward to a day of meetings, or staring at a computer screen. Well, lets meet the folks at Forrest-Pruzan Creative. Their job is to create games. They recently were hired by Disney to design the new Pirates of the Caribbean: Master of the Seas Strategy Game.

Forrest-Pruzan Creative is an award-winning product-invention studio specializing in game invention, design and testing. The firm began creating consumer games more than ten years ago with the creation of many early Cranium products, such as Cadoo, Cariboo, Balloon Lagoon and Hullaballoo. These early games sold millions of units around the globe and the folks at Forrest-Pruzan Creative continue to create award winning, top-selling games for many different manufacturers. The company’s extensive portfolio includes games created for Hasbro, Mattel, Disney, Microsoft, Jakks Pacific and other major publishers.

In 2010, Disney Consumer Products bestowed its first ever “Inventor of the Year” award on the product-invention studio for the firms outstanding work in the area of game creation.

FPC is known for its extensive playtesting process. According to Andrew Forrest, a principal at Forest-Pruzan Creative, “What sets us apart from other leading product-invention studios is our understanding of human psychology, human play patterns and our commitment to consumer testing. We bring that knowledge and understanding to each game concept, whether it is destined to be an App, played online or played more traditionally at a table with family and friends. We playtest each game and refine it until we are ready to present it as a finished product that a client can confidently bring to market.”

Considering their impressive track record. I’m sure we will keep hearing a lot from the folks at Forrest-Pruzan Creative for years to come.
