I hate to criticize a product which someone else spent a great deal of time and energy creating. However, I would say that API struck me as “cartoony” both in its concepts and artwork. Although the book mentions having a horror element, it didn’t really come across as a horror game.

Shadows is certainly not the sort of RPG I’d recommend picking up for those who’ve never role played before simply because there’s too much left to the discretion of the person tasked with running the game and I believe that would overwhelm most. Yet for players looking for a more realistic, low fantasy setting filled with a lot potentially interesting ideas Shadows of Esteren is surely worthy of a purchase and I highly recommend this book.
This is the story of Earth in the year 2717. Our old Earth has suffered a lot over the centuries, and most people live in orbit. Similar in ways to the storyline for Alien, all of humanity is governed by a single mega corporation, called the Conglomerate.
Pittsburgh 68 is a fun and easy game for the most part though. You feel the theme throughout the game, and I’m just amazed with the amount of gameplay that is packed into a single deck of cards.
The game is more of a mental challenge than fun, so if you like that kind of game then Mage Knight is the game for you.
Playing Morphology Junior with its intended audience is a fun way to spend some quality family time together. It’s similar to other games of its type, and thus earns an ok rating from me.
