Archie Comics has revealed more info about the upcoming Sabrina series which arrives this October (just in time for Halloween) with chief creative officer, and Afterlife with Archie scribe, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa being joined by artist Robert Hack to provide plenty of scares for comic readers. While the Sabrina character had previously been aimed at kids since her introduction in 1962 this new title, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, will surely market to an older audience.
In April Aquirre-Sacasa told Comic Book Resources, “This October I’m launching a second book which is kind of a companion book to ‘Afterlife,’ also horror, which is a Sabrina book. That’s gonna be, in a way, I think, even darker than ‘Afterlife with Archie.’ ‘Afterlife with Archie’ kind of usually has a good sense of humor about it, like a Sam Raimi kind of tongue in cheek — the Sabrina book is very dark. It’s a period book, it’s set in the ’60s, which is when Sabrina first came out; it was in her heyday.”
