On a very special holiday edition of TGG (although not nearly as very special as an episode of Blossom…), my good pal game designer John Welch stops by to discuss his latest title Cruel Necessity and other games he has in the works. I also review Cheaty Mages from AEG, Moonbase Alpha from Victory Point Games, Cuba Libre from GMT Games, and Numenera from Monte Cook Games. All this plus plenty of news and tunes to keep the season bopping along.

Jeff, you have not only the only gaming podcast with music (pretty cool I have to say) but you’re the only guy who could include the Pogues and John Lennon in your X-Mas mix! Nicely done!
Great to hear this interview. I really like the play-throughs I see for many Victory Point Games. I especially like the look of Cuba Libre even if it looks a little intimidating. Must. Go. Buy. Now.
You shouldn’t be intimidated at all by Cuba Libre. There’s really only ten pages of rules and after a few turns everyone gets a handle on the proceedings.
Great podcast as usual, Jeff! It was awesome hearing John’s interview – what a wonderful talent he is. John is one of the real gentlemen of this hobby and I’m very happy for his success. John’s got a ton of winner designs in him and I wish him the best of luck.
Thanks again, guys – great job!
Hermann
Of course, that comment comes from yet another of the true class acts in game design. 🙂 Seriously!
Could you list the songs and artists in the Christmas episode? I want to make a playlist!
Easily done JP!
