Kevin Smith Working on Clerks 3 Script

Earlier today Kevin Smith announced he began writing the script for Clerks 3. Smith has famously stated his upcoming film (or possibly TV miniseries) Hit Somebody would be his last although the possibility existed he’d make one more film if he could get the original cast together for a third Clerks installment. That’s fallen into place and earlier today Smith revealed this through Facebook:

THE BEGINNING OF THE END

20 years ago today, we started shooting CLERKS.

20 years later, with no plan or provocation, I jumped out of bed at 4:20 this morning and started writing CLERKS III.

It’s been like hanging out with old friends.

And after 2 hours of tapping the keys and giggling, I have come to a conclusion…

CLERKS III will be the best film I’ll ever make.

I’ll be the first to say Clerks 2 may not have been my favorite Kevin Smith movie – although like all of Kev’s flicks there are plenty of standout dialogue moments – I’m happy to hear Smith isn’t tossing in the movie making towel just yet!
