I can’t recommend the show highly enough as the storytelling and production quality are top notch. I do want to mention that there are some pretty gruesome scenes (and sound effects) plus you’ll hear a sprinkling of F-Bombs dropped throughout. I suppose that whole “younger or more sensitive listeners” disclaimer should come into play here. There are currently two seasons of the show available for your listening pleasure (or discomfort… heh heh) and the program will return for a third season on January 2nd, 2012. I’ll also mention in the short time since I talked about We’re Alive with Elliott on our podcast he’s become a huge fan himself! Zombies? Horror? Oh yeah! Elliott’s onboard for that!
For anyone running (or interested in running) an RPG setting, in which the dead have come back to life, We’re Alive offers a treasure trove of nuggets to mine. Any given episode easily provides a dozen or more ideas to incorporate into your own game. Plus it’s loads of fun to hear!

I have to say that this is probably the best radio drama that I have heard in a long time. The writing is excellent, as is the acting (most of the time) and the foley (sound effect) work is spectacular. The music enhances the show, and every episode is so well done. There have been times that I was listening and doing something else, and the action would get so tense that I would just freeze, stop whatever I was doing and just stand in place and listen. I’m sure I looked like a nut, but it was so good it just drew me in until the tense moment was over. I have already recommended it to everyone I could. This is a show that works as an audio drama, and if you have never experienced the wonders of old time radio, or fallen asleep listening to the CBS Radio Mystery Theater, then this would be a great introduction to radio drama. Not for kids!
