As we rapidly approach our one year anniversary, we’ve decided to move away from having an affiliation with any gaming retailers. It’s not that we have anything against any company, it’s simply the fact that it will free us up to share with you the best deals from anyone and everyone. So if Funagain Games has a big sale going on, we’ll bring that info to you. The same goes for Troll and Toad, Thought Hammer, Noble Knight, and anyone else out there.
You might think this reasoning is sort of strange considering we now pull in around 45,000 visits per month and each podcast is downloaded hundreds of times.
Yet, we believe this is in the best interests of gamers out there. Of course, you can never go wrong by ordering directly from the source – the publishers themselves – but in this day and age we all look for the best deals! So why not give our visitors as much info as we can about all the deals out there?
This isn’t to say we won’t accept advertising from online retailers (we have to keep the doors open here somehow) but we simply aren’t going to only focus on bringing you deals from a single affiliate.
Doesn’t that mean we’re going to lose out on getting credit towards games? Sure it does! Yet we’re more committed to being a true destination website for gamers than we are in shaving a few bucks off of the games we buy. We’re going to put the word out there so we can start slamming out more Save on Games posts!
We think that our new line of thinking makes for better gaming!
